Dairy School–Who Would Have Thought?

Posted on November 15, 2012. Filed under: Betty Kittell, NMLS #501059 |

I recently attended the Alltech Wisconsin Dairy School 2012 at the Atrium at Lambeau Field. Alltech is a leader in the animal health and nutrition industry. The day consisted of several knowledgeable speakers who excel in the nutritional phase of animal nutrients.  WOW! To my surprise, having a business in the dairy farming industry isn’t just about “Feed the Cows, Milk the Cows, Repeat”!

I have been employed at Denmark State Bank for the past 12 years. Our bank has specialized in servicing our local community farmers with Agri-Business loans for the past 102 years.  It was an eye-opening experience to realize that our customers must have such a high level of knowledge and ability to make their business profitable.

Next time I take a drink of milk, have a yogurt, enjoy ice cream or just see one of our talented, hard working, and knowledgeable Ag customers come through our doors at Denmark State Bank, I’ll be saying “Thank You”. I certainly am amazed at the talents our local farmers need to have to keep their businesses alive and profitable.

I will no longer think that dairy farming is “Feed the Cows, Milk the Cows, Repeat”!
